Emsella® Services Offered in Minot, ND

There’s never a convenient time for urine leakage, and several forms of urinary incontinence can cause it to happen multiple times a day. Noninvasive Emsella® treatments can increase strength and support for your pelvic floor so you can hold in your urine more confidently. To see how Emsella can improve your quality of life after childbirth or menopause, call Legacy Health Clinic or schedule a treatment consultation online today.

What is Emsella?

Emsella is a one-of-a-kind treatment for urinary incontinence that uses pulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscle and tissue contractions in your pelvic area. Contracting your pelvic floor muscles using Emsella helps rebuild their strength so that you have more control over them after changes due to aging, childbirth, and other life events.  Emsella treatments are completely noninvasive and take just 30 minutes per session during your visit to Legacy Health Clinic. Cim customizes your treatment plan based on your needs and personal concerns, but most patients need roughly two sessions per week for three weeks for a total of six sessions in total to strengthen their pelvic floor.

Can I benefit from Emsella?

Emsella may benefit you if you experience urinary incontinence, a condition that makes it hard for you to hold in your urine throughout the day due to a lack of support from your pelvic floor. It’s a great option for three distinct types of urinary incontinence, which often occur after menopause or vaginal childbirth:

Stress incontinence

Stress incontinence causes you to dribble urine unexpectedly when some type of force or stress stimulates your bladder. This could be due to coughing, laughing, or lifting a heavy object.

Urge incontinence

Urge incontinence causes you to feel the very immediate urge to urinate at any time, with very little time to get to the closest restroom.

Mixed incontinence

Mixed incontinence involves symptoms of both stress incontinence and urge incontinence.

What do Emsella treatments feel like?

Emsella treatments are notably comfortable and don’t cause pain. As the Emsella device stimulates muscle contractions, you feel those contractions and might notice a tingling sensation too. You won’t be in any pain after the procedure either: You can go about your day as usual when you leave Legacy Health Clinic.

How long does it take to experience results from Emsella?

You might notice some improvements in your incontinence as early as your first Emsella treatment. The improvements continue as you complete each session in your treatment plan, with maximum benefits becoming apparent two to four weeks following your final session.  Emsella can restore your pelvic floor to better support organs in the region like your uterus and bladder. Call Legacy Health Clinic to see if you’re a candidate, or schedule your personalized consultation online today.
